Enough of my pity party. Onto something worth talking about.
This little guy, right here:
| Our big 9 Month old! |
This past month, he has learned to
- Pull him self up and stand for long periods of time
- Go from a laying position to sitting position
- Drink from a straw! Apparently, he shouldn't be able to do this yet since all of the straw sippy cups say 12+ months. He's got his daddy's brain's, what can I say? :) He prefers this over the sippy cups with the nipple spout that is for his age group-and actually won't take that one anymore.
- Say mama! That's right folks, his first words are officially mama! But, he does say dada. It just isn't as often and it doesn't seem to be directed towards his daddy, just more of a noise he learned. That is what I thought of mama, but he actually looks at me and says it. So our precious boy has said his first words. :)
- Give kisses! It's the most precious thing, even if his mouth is open. :) Although, occasionally his mouth is closed. I love them either way.
He also had his first try of banana (chopped up of course). That didn't go so well. His pediatrician said we could start trying him on whole foods but he is just not ready for that yet. He got some in his throat, didn't know what to do with it, and gagged until he threw up. Poor guy. He'll get there though. No need to rush him growing up!
He weighed 22.7 lbs (80th %) and is 29.25 inches (88th %) long! Such a big boy! We'll have to buy him a new car seat soon (his goes up to 32 in long or 35 lbs)! He also just needs a few more words in and he's developmentally 11 months! :) No shots this time. I made his 12 month check up for November 21. No way was I going to make him get all of his shots on his 1st birthday!
